Ukraine invasion: Visa and Mastercard announce suspension of operations in Russia

Visa and Mastercard have announced they're suspending operations in Russia.

credit and debit cards issued through Russian banks will no longer work outdoor of the country.

Russian businesses and cash machines will even be unable to accept cards issued abroad.

Visa's chief government Al Kelly mentioned: "we're compelled to behave following Russia's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, and the unacceptable activities that we now have witnessed."

And Mastercard described the hobbies of the past 10 days as "shocking and devastating", including: "We don't take this resolution calmly. Mastercard has operated in Russia for more than 25 years."
