European games conclusion with Russia atop medal desk

MINSK, Belarus (AP) - the european video games have ended with Russia dominating the medal table in a tuneup for a few of subsequent 12 months's capabilities Olympic medal contenders.

Russia racked up forty four gold medals to finish ahead of host nation Belarus and third-placed Ukraine, partly thanks to the various medals on offer in gymnastics and combat sports. Russia gained 11 gold medals in gymnastics and seven extra in wrestling.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and foreign Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach were among the many dignitaries attending Sunday's closing ceremony, which mixed elements of natural Belarusian lifestyle with contemporary music.

Poland will host the next version of the ecu video games in Krakow in 2023.
